An Arduino might be just what you need, but sometimes an Arduino might not be the right choice. In this article I'm going to talk about what I would and wouldn't consider when choosing an Arduino for a new project.

There are a lot of choices when it comes to Arduinos, but there's also a lot of Arduinos that aren't Arduinos! To make matters worse there are also Arduino's from Arduino.cc and Arduino.org (two different companies). Overwhelmed yet? In this article I'm assuming you already know the basics about microcontrollers, but I do describe them in short detail.

Let's get started and break this down a bit...

Arduino 101, the new combo from Arduino.cc and Intel

Arduino 101

Arduino.cc and Intel have come together to make this new microcontroller board that I'm eager to try. Unfortunately, I can't get my hands on one yet, but it's likely to start showing up for sale the first quarter of 2016. What has me skeptical is the price.
